Winter without skiing in Les Collons: spa, sledging and snowshoes
Not everyone in the group skis every day. Around Les Collons there is a spa with outdoor pools, sledging, snowshoe trails and a cross-country loop. Here is what we checked on the official sites.
Les Grands Bains d'Hérémence: a spa with outdoor pools
Les Grands Bains d'Hérémence is a spa in Les Masses, 0.5 km from the Les Masses chairlift as the crow flies.
Warm outdoor pools face the peaks. There are also saunas, hammams, sensory showers, themed grottoes, rest areas and an herbal tea room.
It is open every day from 11:00 to 20:30. It closes on 30 October 2026 for the Rallye du Valais.

Sledging and snowtubing at Léteygeon
At Léteygeon, near the hamlet of Pralong, there is a sledge run and snowtubing.
Check opening hours and prices on thyon.ch before you go. Tubes are rented while the Léteygeon ski lift runs.
Télé-Thyon has also tested the Matze sledge run between Thyon 2000 and Les Collons. Check thyon4vallees.ch to see whether it runs in 2026/27.
Snowshoes and winter walks from the village
From the entrance to Les Collons, a winter trail leads into the Forêt des Ours. The Chottes walk takes you to a restaurant on the slopes.
From Thyon 2000, a route follows the old Bisse de Chevré. Maps and GPX files are at the Thyon tourist office, Rue des Collons 5.
Theytaz Sport in Les Masses rents snowshoes and sledges. On 16.01, 21.02 and 13.03.2027, Thyon holds moonlit snowshoe evenings.
Cross-country and dog sleds in the Val des Dix
The Pralong cross-country trail in the Val des Dix is open from 12.12.2026 to 28.03.2027. It is a 6 km loop.
A day costs CHF 12 and a week CHF 40. It is free up to age 16.
Les Nordiques du Quart d'en Bas run dog sled rides on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. From 24.12.2026 to 21.03.2027, 1.5 km costs CHF 40 per adult and CHF 20 per child.
The ice rink in Les Collons
The Les Collons ice rink is open in winter; skates can be rented at the buvette. Check the hours on thyon.ch.
Heavy snow or warm weather can close it fully or in part.
Back at the chalet: hot tub and sauna
The outdoor hot tub on the terrace runs all year at no extra charge. The infrared sauna has its own studio with a shower and WC.
In the evening, the fire is lit in the living room.
Our chalet takes up to 12 guests, with an outdoor hot tub all year and an infrared sauna. The Les Masses chairlift is 1.8 km by road, so the house is not ski-in/ski-out.
