Where to stay in the 4 Vallées: Les Collons, Verbier, Nendaz or Veysonnaz

The 4 Vallées links four resorts on one lift pass. Each village suits a different trip. Here is a fair comparison from the Les Collons side, where our chalet stands.

4 Vallées: four villages, one lift pass

The 4 Vallées has 410 km of pistes according to the operators. Mont-Fort, at 3,330 m, is the highest point.

The area links Verbier, Nendaz, Veysonnaz and Thyon via Mont-Fort. The Printse sector covers Thyon, Veysonnaz and Nendaz, with 220 km of pistes.

  • Printse pass: Thyon, Veysonnaz, Nendaz
  • 4 Vallées pass: adds Mont-Fort, Tortin and Verbier
  • Adult, 6 days at the ticket office: CHF 349 (Printse), CHF 409 (4 Vallées), as of 15.10.2026

Verbier: the best-known name, at the far end

Verbier lies at 1,500 m and calls itself an iconic Swiss alpine resort. If you want to ski Verbier every day, stay there.

Looking for a ski chalet in Verbier itself? Ours is not there. From Les Collons, Verbier is 72.5 km by road, about 72 minutes (drive time by car, calculated 15.10.2026).

On skis, a 4 Vallées pass takes you to Verbier via Veysonnaz, Nendaz and Tortin.

Nendaz and Veysonnaz: the close neighbours

Veysonnaz is a small village at about 1,230 m with roughly 600 inhabitants. Its Piste de l'Ours runs 2.3 km from Thyon 2000 to the Mayens de l'Ours.

The red run drops 662 m and has hosted over 30 downhill World Cups. Veysonnaz is 7.4 km from our chalet, about 12 minutes by car (calculated 15.10.2026).

In Haute-Nendaz, the Tracouet gondola leaves from the resort. By road it is 17.3 km from us, about 27 minutes (drive time by car, calculated 15.10.2026).

Les Collons and Thyon: a quiet base in the Printse sector

Les Collons and Thyon 2000 sit at about 1,500 to 2,100 m. The Les Masses chairlift takes you up into the Thyon sector.

The covered Parking des Masses at its foot is free by day (as of 15.10.2026). Around our chalet it is very quiet, in summer and winter.

Beginners get the free Petit Vallon area in Les Collons 1850, with two magic carpets.

A house for 12 instead of hotel rooms

Groups and families often want one roof, not five hotel rooms. Our chalet has 193 m², 5 bedrooms and a mezzanine with two beds.

There are 5 bathrooms with showers and a table where 12 people sit together. A lift links the floors and the entrance has no steps.

Getting there: train to Sion, then 28 minutes

From Geneva Airport, a direct train reaches Sion in about 2 hours. From Sion station to the chalet it is 17.5 km, about 28 minutes by car (calculated 15.10.2026).

Without a car, bus 371 runs from Sion to Les Masses in about 40 minutes, 5 times a day.

Our chalet takes up to 12 guests, with an outdoor hot tub all year and an infrared sauna. The Les Masses chairlift is 1.8 km by road, so the house is not ski-in/ski-out.

Asked before booking, answered straight

Is Les Collons part of the 4 Vallées?

Yes. Les Collons belongs to the Thyon sector, part of Printse and the 4 Vallées. The Les Masses chairlift is 1.8 km by road from our chalet.

Can I ski from Les Collons to Verbier?

Yes, with a 4 Vallées pass. You ski via Veysonnaz, Nendaz and Tortin. The Printse pass alone does not cover Verbier.

How far is Verbier from Les Collons by car?

72.5 km by road, about 72 minutes (drive time by car, calculated 15.10.2026). Mountain roads take longer in winter.

Is the chalet ski-in/ski-out?

No. The Les Masses chairlift is 1.8 km by road, about 4 minutes by car (calculated 15.10.2026). On foot it is 1.4 km downhill, about 19 minutes.

Which village suits a group of 12?

It depends on the plan. Verbier is the base for skiing Verbier daily. For a quiet house with one table for 12, Les Collons works well.

How do we get there without a car?

Take the train from Geneva Airport to Sion, about 2 hours without changing. Then bus 371 to Les Masses, about 40 minutes, 5 times a day.
